5 Unique Kids Birthday Party Ideas

  • On February 1, 2017

To create a great birthday party in the Twin Cities area, you’ll need a great idea. Here are some unique, easy birthday ideas for kids. Adults and children can have fun and spend time with friends at one of these cool, creative events.

A Carnival or Fair

Almost everyone loves a good carnival, so it’s no surprise that they make perfect party themes! Decorate in a big-top style, serve popcorn in vintage-style boxes, and give kids clown noses as party favors. You also can play classic carnival games like paper plate ring toss or ball toss with ping-pong balls and plastic cups. You even could throw in cotton candy, peanuts or face painting as well.

Sprinklers

If it’s summer, tell party guests to bring their bathing suits and flip-flops so that they can play outside in the sprinklers. You can also add an inflatable pool and give the whole party a relaxed, aquatic theme. Or, instead of putting water in the pool, you can also make colorful construction paper fish. Then, everyone can fish for them with magnets tied to fake bamboo-fishing poles, just put a gem clip on every fish!

Cookies and Candy

One way to satisfy a sweet tooth is with a delicious candy and cookie buffet. Simply use clear glass jars to hold your child’s favorites then let them mix and match. For activities, feature classic games such as Candy Land or hold a count the jellybeans contest. Decorate with bright cellophane, balloons, and lollipops to create a whimsical wonderland.

Favorite Color

Kids’ birthday party ideas about their favorite color are easy to come up with. Just tell guests to wear the birthday boy or girl’s favorite shade, and cover the walls and floor with colored paper. You can make the cake and party favors match. For example, strawberry or red velvet cake would be great for children who love red. They also can play with red blocks, color the red paper with oil pastels, or shoot at each other with red silly string.
