Located on the fourth floor of the Mall of America, this arcade offers laser tag, an indoor ride that you can design yourself using virtual reality, and a state-of-the-art game lab. On the weekends, this attraction stays open until 1 am, perfect for older kids.
It wouldn’t be a complete list of rainy day activities in St. Paul without including the world’s largest, seven-acre indoor theme park, Nickelodeon Universe. With 27 rides featuring your favorite Nickelodeon characters and shows, there is something for everyone! You can also meet your favorite Nickelodeon characters on a rotating basis, making it an ideal family destination.
The Escape Game
For older, more adventurous family members, why not try The Escape Game Minneapolis? Travel to Mars, become Special Ops and break out of prison for crimes that you didn’t commit– all without leaving the Mall of America. For sixty minutes, immerse yourself in extensive game experience, complete with puzzles, a locked door, and the ticking clock.
Moose Mountain Mini Golf
For $10 per person, enjoy a smooth, 18-hole mini golf adventure conveniently located inside the Mall of America. The course is challenging, yet accessible for even younger children. We recommend that players arrive an estimated hour before closing time to give them the time to play all 18 holes.
SeaLife Indoor Aquarium
Snorkel with sharks and see the Seahorse Kingdom with this expansive aquarium. With mermaid exhibits, a rainforest area, and a beautiful coral tank, the SeaLife Aquarium is sure fun for the whole family. SeaLife also offers overnight trips, so you can safely swim with the fishes under the bright lights of SeaLife Indoor Aquarium.
Twin City Model Railroad Museum
The Twin City Model Railroad Museum is the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon with kids, especially those that love trains. Toy trains, model trains, and a full-scale decommissioned train all reside in this museum, which spans two buildings. This museum has an element of interactivity, a “night trains exhibit,” and plenty of toy train tables for younger children. However, only part of the museum is open on the weekends, so plan your trips accordingly!
Can Can Wonderland
A former factory turned mini golf exhibit, Can Can Wonderland is a great place to take the family on a rainy afternoon. Can Can Wonderland has a bar for adults seeking a relaxing beverage, drop-in art classes on the weekends, and a full-course, 18-hole mini golf exhibit. With every food and beverage purchase at Can Can Wonderland, the owners donate to the Minneapolis-St. Paul artists that make the venue possible.
Aerial Ninja Obstacle Course
Have cabin fever after an extended period of rain? Help the kids blow off some steam with the Aerial Ninja Obstacle Couse, located in the Zero Gravity trampoline park—one of the best trampoline parks in St. Louis, MN. Make your way up Jacob’s ladder, swing across discs using your upper body, run across the narrow balance beam, and spider across the netting with this ninja challenge.
There are many attractions in the park that are also great things to do in the Twin Cities with kids. Whether it’s laser tag, the open trampoline courts, or the climbing wall, bond with your kids by challenging yourselves. The diversity of attractions in the trampoline park make for great things to do in St. Paul.
