It’s a problem that vexes all parents of a certain age group. You want to throw a really great birthday party, one that’s plenty of fun in the moment and good enough to remain memorable for years, but you don’t want to spend an excessive amount of money making it happen.
It’s a good thing, then, that Zero Gravity knows just the right ways to hit the spots necessary to make a great party.
Keep Them Occupied
Keeping the guests, and especially the guest of honor, busy during a party can sometimes be a challenge when the party is held at a home. The trick is to keep things engaging without being overboard. For younger kids, musicians with a good repertoire of children’s songs work dandy. As for the older set, party games or activities like swimming and scavenger hunts can do the job.
Keep Them Fed
Birthday parties without food? Sounds impossible, but worse than no food is the wrong food. Some parents might want to ensure the kids are given something healthy, but it might be a bit much to expect festively crafted “kale kritters” to satisfy. It’s a party, after all. Unless there are severe food allergies involved, it’s hard to go wrong with pizza, root beer and the traditional cake and ice cream.
Keep Them No Longer Than You Have To
Prince said it best: “Parties weren’t meant to last.” All-day affairs are going to strain the stamina of even the most vigorous youth, not to mention the patience of the most loving host parent. Younger partygoers start to wear out after about two hours, while older ones might be straining themselves after three. Plan accordingly.
Keep The Wrapping On
The other kids might be dying to see what the guest of honor got, and how it compares to the gift they brought, but that’s going to be a recipe for trouble. Feel free to hand out goodie bags to guests, but let the birthday boy or girl know that they’ll have to wait until after the party’s over to see what they got. Remind them that it’ll be worth the wait.
Zero Gravity can certainly help with these sorts of scenarios, particularly with all the good things that go into one of our party packages. If you’re looking to stage one of the coolest birthday parties in Minneapolis this year, give us a call and we’ll see what we can do to make it great.
